Job Description:
We are seeking highly skilled and motivated doctoral research scientists with background related to biology, cell biology, bioengineering, or molecular biology to participate in our translation medical research programs. The candidates will manage and execute one or more translational programs with the guidance of a senior scientist or setup and run cross cutting microscopy techniques. The successful candidates will also be responsible for preparation of research reports, presentations, patents, manuscripts and participate in grant writing.
Qualifications:
The candidate will have a recent PhD or equivalent degree in biology, cell biology, bioengineering, molecular biology or related fields. Laboratory research experience with cells, tissues or organs is preferred, particularly use of pancreas and pancreatic islets for potential treatment of diabetes, liver and hepatocytes for liver disease research or lung physiology. Experience with microscopy and/or animal models would be beneficial. The candidate should demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail in the laboratory, the capacity for independent problem solving, analytical skills, with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. The candidate should also demonstrate the flexibility to work in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. Experience in our core competence low temperature biology is not a requirement.
